Arriving in Lima

Hello Folks!

Glad you could make it to my new blog.

Ok, the first thing I imagine you´re thinking is "Yeah, yeah, what kind of guarantees do I have that this new blog will actually be worth watching this time around?" Admittedly, last year´s blog did crash and burn about 75% of the way through its flight. However, I can guarantee that this blog will be better. I will be seeing more places and new things, so I will be taking more pictures and I should be forced to update more often... at least, that´s what I´m telling myself, and I´m sticking to it. We´ll see. I´ve also become ambitious and have decided to try and make my travel into an interesting vlog-type-thing. Hopefully, by using the limited video function on my camera, I can post videos of my travels on my YouTube account. I hope you´ll check that out when I get it up and going. I´ll let you all know when it´s up and running.

Right now, I´m just going to let you know what happened, and tomorrow, I´ll start posting some pictures.

Originally, my flight from Saskatoon to Peru was postponed because of a big blizzard in Toronto, and so I delayed my flight for 2 days. It gave me some time to say goodbye to a few people and to spend some more time with my parents.

The flight to Peru was good. I had a 5 hour layover in Toronto, so I searched around the airport and found a new book to read - Life after Death by Deepak Chopra. So far, it´s rather interesting, and on my flight from Toronto to Lima, I read half of the book. The other half was spent talking to a Korean guy... in Korean. I was actually surprised that I could carry on such a long conversation with him. I guess I did pick up some Korean while I was in Korea after all!

I arrived at the airport and was nervous about taking a taxi, but at 1 am there were travel agent booths open and they arranged a safe taxi to take me to the hostel I´m at now - the Inka House. Also known as Loki backpacker´s Inn. Its cheap and good.

´More later...
